Dhela Zone in Jim Corbett National Park
Dhela Zone, added to the Corbett Tiger Reserve in 1991, is renowned for its sprawling campus and rich biodiversity. Located in the buffer area of the reserve and named after the nearby village of Dhela, this zone offers a delightful experience for bird watchers and wildlife enthusiasts alike.
Topography and Wildlife: Dhela Zone features diverse flora and fauna, including Sheesam, Dhak, Sisoo, Khair, and the only conifer in the park, Chir Pine. The higher reaches near Kanda are home to Banj Oak, a typical Himalayan species. This zone provides an ideal habitat for various wildlife, such as the Royal Bengal tiger, Asiatic elephant, spotted deer, barking deer, chital, sambar deer, wild boar, black-faced monkeys, and more. Additionally, it is a bird watcher’s paradise with numerous species like peacocks, jungle fowl, and the Asian paradise flycatcher.

Dhela Forest Rest House (FRH): Offers a double bedroom with basic amenities. The compound includes a restaurant and canteen.
Safari Experience: Visitors can enjoy Jeep Safaris, which require prior bookings. The zone also offers thrilling forest trails with armed guards, providing a lifetime experience of observing wildlife in their natural habitat.
